may sound stupid but im thinking of making my own show cage ?

    hello

basicly i want a show cage in my car (corsa b) but i was thinking of making my own

has anyone ever done this before

and obviously it wouldnt make my car any safer but would it make it any more unsafe ?

i was thinking about getting some thin tubing getting sections bent already then welding them onto straight tubing so i dont have to do loads of measurements

i dont know if its a stupid idea i just want to know what people think ? and if they know roughly how much it would cost

any ideas suggestions etc would be appreciated thanks

It would make it more unsafe if you have a serious crash you run the risk of having it smash you in the head

Nasty chav crap, just fit a proper cage with padding on it or dont bother at all.
And check with your insurers first as most go mental at the mention of a rollcage.

A very bad idea... Even if you were (and may well be) a coded welder it still makes no sense atall.

I work in and around breakers yards and have seen show cages split and torn into lethaly sharpe objects, so even if it didnt knock you out could well impale you. (or worse, your passenger)

Show cages should be illegal in my opinion.

Make it out of plastic lol. Cover it in cage padding, no one will ever know.

You can copper paint plastic and get it chromed, if it was made out of thin wall large diameter waste pipe it would look just like the real thing but be so weak if you headbutted it then it wouldnt matter lmao
