If there is steel left to weld its piss easy. If its rusted to bits and you want to patch it up then its difficult

Well said, we all knew what he meant

if it's just a small hole then patch it anyway as the chances are as you try to weld it it will disapear, grind what ever it is back to the nearest good metal and work from there
