    Respraying car bit by bit!

Are you able to respray a car bit by bit? what i mean is could you get say one side done and then have the other side done some months later or have the bumpers/bonnet done and then the wings at a later date, or is it always going to look odd. If the body shop stuck to the original mixture/tin each time, is this possible?

Mine is glacier white 10L would this help the new paint blend in with the old?

Yes but you might get a slightly different finish between panels depending on the sprayer / temperature at time of spray etc - should polish down though.

And make sure you have enough paint to do the whole job plus a bit more for wastage.

A decent bodyshop should be able to match the paint colour at each step, but I'd have thought it would be a lot more costly to do it like this than to get the whole car done in one go as a lot more attention to detail would be needed to acheive a consistent finish across the whole car by doing a bit at a time, and it might take a few tints to get the colour perfectly consistent also, adding to the labour time and material costs. Believe it or not, white is one of the most difficult colours to match.

My nova's paintwork is original. Just had a door painted (casablanca white) and you'd never know.

I cut and polished the whole car by hand except for the new door and it blends in perfectly

as mentioned above though. You may have to flat it back yourself, as finishes will vary.
