    Carb manifold

    Right i have decieded to go with carbs but need a manifold for my 18e,i have spoke to bogg bros and they say i will need to wait a considerable time until i would receive them! so i was thinking about going for a easier option of making a manifold but i dont have the equipment could someone on hear make me a manifold to fit r1 carbs? cheers

    Shame. I have a spare one for the 2.0 8v.

    Can you not get a local fab shop to make you one? Or get all the bits, Chop and mark them and get someone to weld it up?

    I made my own out of mild steel

    aw thats sweet man! how much would you want for the manifold,could i possibly change the manifold?

    i was hoping you would reply to this ha,because i knew you had previously made your own

    Ahh yea i get quite a few pm's about stuff like this.

    My old one is screwed to the shed wall at the moment being used as a pen / screwdriver pot! Its not suitable for a 18e head though and adapting it would be as time consuming as making a new one.

    As much as id love to help, making one for you is a bit out of the question too,,,,, Its a right headache. Couldnt possibly justify it, even for a profit!

    If you do get one made try and make sure it fits like this. Carb mouths butted right up to the runners.

    Ive seen a lot of crap ones where there's a gap between the runner and the carb just bridged with silicoln. It causes all sorts of trouble with the flow....

    ah ok it,s cool i could imagine you would get alot of messages from people asking that

    cheers for the info on the dogey manifolds ha,but i,m sure i will sort something out anyway mate
