rust on corsa b rear suspension mounts help !!!

hi guys. well iv gone and taken my rear suspension off and as iv done that iv found a shed load of rust . were the top of the suspension spring goes there is rust. on 1 side there looks to have been a patch up on it. is it posible to cut out and reweld new plates there.

i had this trouble recenly on my car !! it was weird because was only on the ddrivers side. i removed the round plate the springs goes up to then cut out as much rust as i could, treated any remaining rust and then plated the whole rear chassis rail after i fixed the plate the spring sits on by measuring from the passenger side.

U no the plate at the top were the rear spring holds on to. Mine has all come away. Is there ment to be somthing that it holds on to to keep it in place at the top

Yea it welded to the box section in behind mate ur best cuttin itout see wats behind or wats left

Yeh well if i cut the top bit out can i buy a new top mount to weld back in

Just have a look at the good side, and make one youself a plate from some nice steel, Its only a rubber mount I think that holds the spring in position
