Someone advice On correctly using fade out spray

I need to do a blend on 2k clear coat but want to no the correct way to apply the fade out spray you use in aersol form?? Ive keyed up with grey scotchbrite! Do i feather lacquer out to as far as ive keyed then apply the spray between old and new lacquer? Do u apply straight after last coat while wet or let it dry? Any help would ve great thanks
