how to fix a broken seat hook bracket

i started changing my interior and found this im not sure how to weld it back on


now i have done this



do i do it like this


or like thios or like this how it was orignal spot welded




or is there another method i can use its a bit fiddley, i was thinking weld up the cracks then put back in the original position or hget a plate cut a hole for the hook and weld the hook on this plate. then cut the cracked section out and weld the plate that would be made on so technically them hook would be back in the original position

any advice would be good

I'd plate the hole, then weld the bracket back on via the spot weld holes and a bit on each corner.

do i think ill notice the difference in the slight angle change of the seat?

Try and get it back on in the same place.

Looks like it's supposed to poke through the box section.
I'd cut the box section make a plate, slit it, poke the catch through, weld it, then tack into place and then seam it.

Or get the section of box out of another car, drill out the spots and replace it as one.

End of the day, its torn, so the metal is weakened, replacing would be better than repairing in this instance I'd say.

Is that a Corsa by any chance? They're ****ing ****e for doing that. Drill out the end of all the cracks because they'll carry on. I'd go for slotting a very generous U-shaped plate and putting the catch through as above, then welding the whole lot in, so you're effectively replacing the whole box section.
