    Replacing a roof on a Corsa B?

Just wondering how difficult and what sort of work is involved to replace a roof on a Corsa B? Would it affect the structural integrity of the shell etc?

As you can see its looking a bit worse for wear.

Remove the roof rails and windscreen, and take off the boot completely, then its a case of drilling out the spot welds all the way around.

Then just weld the new one in? Would you seal it with something?

i'm guessing you mean how long, well you need to remove the headlining and pillar trims inside the car, then remove tailgate, sunroof if it has one and front screen, and then drill all the spot welds out, thats a good few hours work in itself

its spot welded, isn't as much heat in spot welding as there is in mig welding

You mean continual welding i hope lmao You can still spot with mig.

Whats actually wrong with yours? Surely you can just have it painted, would be a damn sight easier.
Please ensure all events queries are pm'd in my direction. Please be patient and i will get back to you very soon.

its more plug welding with a mig though tbh, but yes continual welding will easily warp a roof

You won't really be able to use a second hand one, especially on your first go as they kink and generally wreck them selves.

you can mig a roof on, ideally you want to spot weld it on, but as a diy job mig plugs will be fine, you shouldn't have too much problems with heat distortion as theres ridges and corners where your welding so its not like your welding a flat panel.

It's all dented in, you can't really see on the pic but will get hold of another one an it has rust patches everywhere too. Hoping to sell it on as a shell aswell.

My dads a welder by trade so I'll ask him to do the welding part, so hopefully should be ok.

    Hi
I Know a guy that change the roof, he changes to a sunroof, its easyaer then u think.
Under the black belts, its the solder points, its where u have to drill the spot weld.
