It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're working with turkeys
a friend has just lashed a load on the car he is restoring and is kinda sitting there while it dries. i fear it could be a while as you are right in saying it kinda stays tacky
just getting pictures in my head it will be like wet tar and be annoying when working on the car at a later date
It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're working with turkeys
This stuff?
If it is then it never fully sets and yes it will get allover everything when your working on it. It is pretty good at keeping moisture out though and since it doesn't set it doesn't chip off in places and allow water to sit underneath it
I would personally go for something that stays soft, tacky, as it can self heal against small knocks. so my guess is it would be good, or it may stay wet underneath whilst the top exposed layer may dry to tiuch.
Our future lies in the past, we can learn from the past to forcast our future,
yeah thats the stuff i was wondering how tacky it stays, too soft then it will be a pain

I've never had a problem with it - it's almost self healing if it's chipped and any mess can be cleaned off bodywork or hands with white spirit.
does it go kind off hard or will i be able rub it with my hand and it will transfer
It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're working with turkeys
You wont be able to rub through it but you will get some on your finger if you get me.
Its not so great at looking pretty but its good for stopping rust
so what other option do i have maybe hammerite smooth or hammered

Schutz.
What are you using the car for? Hammerite on its own is fine for weekend or summer but its a bit thin for winter so if its the everyday car id schutz it
Ive used that stuff on the underside of my astra and the arches of the nova. Its not wet..... like anti-vandal paint, it does dry, just stays softish. You wont find it rubs off on your clothes when say changing a strut,,,,, but could scrape it off with your nail if you get what i mean.
yeah know what your talking now think i will just use it then a will do a section then leave it few days see if i like it then do whole car.think schutz is a bit expensive
It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're working with turkeys
Schutz is around £4-5 a can and 4 cans should be plenty so not that expensive. You can brush it on but a gun is much better
does schutz dry in better than the stuff i have also where sells the stuff halfords?
It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're working with turkeys
It fully dries and can be painted over with most types of paint. Most decent motor factors will stock it but I dunno if halfords do
i tried ebay and most sellers ar diguising waxoyl as it just been to halfrauds and my local motor factor and they dont sell it. i seen tetrosyl ynderbody sealant in motor factors but tbh its probably garbage il hunt the internet see if i can get some cheers guys
It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're working with turkeys
Underbody Sealant - Machine Mart
is it tetrosyl that makes it
It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're working with turkeys
That what it says on the can - yes
For the love of God, please read the rules
yeah but ive came acroos tetrosyl, hammerite and another one and they all say schutz on them so is there a specific one

Schutz is just a brand name but loads of companies make it. The 3M stuff is good.
