new to welding and looking for advice

i have never welded anything before but im looking to learn so i can weld and smooth my engine bay. im looking for a good value for money mig welder but also a good quality. i have seen some welders with gas and some without. what is the difference and which would be best to use. any other advice on welding and engine bay smoothing would be greatly received

pretty much, unless you welding outside in the wind. the weld is more like stick welding, needs teh slag chipping off after. also you cant went such thin materiol with it as with gas. go for the best welder you can afford. MIG Welding Forum thats a good mig welding forum :P also, dont go for disposable gas bottles, more hassle than there worth.
