    Spraying prices? Midlands...

Evenin all iv recently aqquired a vauxhall nova saloon 1.2 gl in Opel polar White.

It's in brilliant condition but there's a few patches of surface rust which can be expected for a 27 year old car...

But instead of touching up all the little bits iv been told spraying the lower quarter of the car would be better..

Has anyone got any idea of price for say a quarter respray??

    Thanks Dan

this kind of question is the same as asking how long a piece of string is, alot of things come into play that can alter the price

prices all over the country differ
wether you take it to a big bodyshop or a small one
how bad the rust actually is, once the paint is sanded down it might turn out to be worse than it is
when painting just sections of a car the paint needs blending across the panels next to the panels being painted, if just the 1 panel is painted without blending you will see the difference in colour between the 2 panels

the only way to get prices is by visiting local bodyshops and talking to them

Hiya Dan, if you want to pop over to mine you can see my DTM project (or click the link in my sig). The majority of the car is glacier white (same colour?), done by a bodyshop on the outskirts of Notts. He's always done a spot-on job in my eyes, he's done my bumpers, skirts and a set of wheels for me. Never had any issues and he's actually quite cheap!

He's done a bare shell respray for "ianiel"s Nova as well, so there's another person to vouch for him. AFAIK no issues there either

Drop me a PM if you want his details, or want to pop over to see his work.

Actually if you see my Corsa Turbo build in the link below, he did the bumper/wings and bonnet on that as well

always best to actually go and visit them and let them look at the car instead of just calling them, they will just say on phone they can't give proper quote without seeing the car

can't really say roughly how much due to prices varying so much between bodyshops and across the country

Put it this way mate Ian was being quoted £1500 + for his bare shell respray, I think he ended up getting it for £600-£700 if my memory serves me right.

You should be able to get a full blow over for less than that, maybe even cheaper if you do it below the window line

I've seen iainels shell as well and was very impressed with the job - even more so for the money - I'll be taking the guys number should I have need for any painting in the future.
