Can u weld stainless with a mig

As title can u weld stainless with a mig welder if so wat do i need? Different wire or gas? Any tips? Thanks

yes you can you need to usea diffent wire , not the gold wire, you need the silver wire , i welded my stainless exhaust with a mig welder

I know I haven't posted on here much, but you most certainly can weld stainless with a MIG. You *can* weld it with ordinary steel wire, but this isn't good practice as the weld will obviously rust out eventually. Stainless wire is available, and a CO2/Argon gas mix will be fine.

You can mig stainless, its no harder than welding mild.
Using argoshield or co2 will give you black stained welds and some porosity but nothing major so ok for say an exhaust. If its something serious that your welding you should use pureshield.

You should really change your liner too if you want to be proper about it but most people dont bother

untrue you can weld stainless steel with a mig/tig or arc for there all on dc current
alloy is different ac current.
it will weld fine with mildsteel welding wire but the weld will rust
if you have a mig stick some stainless wire into it and it will be fine
or go buy a tig haha

stainless wire and pure argon gas. plus less amps as there is less iron and carbon.
