Did you had a lookinged on ebay?

I got mine from my local sheet metal fabricator, he usually holds varoius gauges (thickness) sheets in stock and let me have some cut to size on his guillotine for a drink.

Try local fabrication companys in your area.

I use 1.2mm for body work and 2mm for the chassis.

I'd go with that, CR4 grade does the job nicely. There should be plenty fabrication companies around the Deen that'd sort you out!

In an emergency I've known people go down the scrappy and cut a car roof off - a fair sized piece of steel that is easily flattened.

online is all very expensive because i assume they all make a living re-selling large stock into small quantities.
I bought from here just recently, http://www.metalsdirectuk.com/ good service and well packed just they wanted to charge me £50 for next day delivery for £30's worth of metal lmao.
parcel2go did it for less than a tenner (organised my own courier in the end)

Recycled computer cases are ok for body work, but a local blacksmith I used for new tubes was dirt cheap...
