practice on a pannel first to ge the right pressure from the gun also the pattern, plenty of heat in this weather would go down well.

    Re: tips for spraying?

Get rid of the cans mate, not ideal for a respray they react very easy and not enough pressure

solid colours are alot easier to paint

Setting the pressure for a gun is on the actual gun itself if its decent

Id think about getting a water trap filterd onto the compressor hose

Better the prep better the paint job

    Re: tips for spraying?

If you are spraying 2k ( 2 Pack ) MS ( medium solid ) or HS ( high solid ) paints. Solid colours you achieve the gloss with what you are given without having to apply lacquer. If for example you were to spray metallic you would need to lacquer, the base coat (metalliic) is matt and you achieve the gloss by applying lacquer. Basicly lacquer is a clear solid.

However you can buy a solid colour as a base coat and then lacquer as you would a metallic. This cuts out the process of having to key the paint as if it was a solid which had already dried/cured. A lot of jap cars are done this way, Solid base coat then lacquer.

    Points to also remember

    Adequate heat
    Ventillation
Face mask NOT the paper ones
    Paper coveralls

Sand it down or scotch it off, roughs up the paint to key the surface for the new paint to stick too.

800 wet mate, then finish off with 1000 grade wet. Make sure you block it to get smoother finish rather using your hands.

Depends on which paint and laquer make you using ? Some might be 2:1 10% or 3:1 20% etc, Read on the tin should tell you what hardener and thinners to use and what ratio.
