    cut or rolled arches?

gonna need to either cut or roll the arches to fit momo arrows on, just wondering what the better option is? from what ive been told so far cutting arches seems to be a better option, can anyone tell me the process off this? been told that if they're cut, they'd need to be sealed again after to protect from rust?

    Re: cut or rolled arches?

How about fibreglass wings & rear quarters with wide arches?

That's what I'm doing on a wide wheel/tyre/ tracked Calibra ( along with TransAm style bonnet... )

Mine are being custom made but I know Lenk in Germany offer them off-the-shelf for the Astra3.

If you cut them make sure you dont cut back further than the spot welds that join the inner and outer arches together.

Fiberglass quarters to fit slightly wider wheels lmao

er, I didn't see any mention of precisely how much extra width is needed. Nor the car for that matter.
If it's his mk3 then ' tis a mere 99 euros for lightweight, rust free arches that give 2.5cm extra width allowing 17x10 rims. Having seen the rust coming through in that area on my mk3 it would seem a bit of a no-brainer really.

Not bad looking to boot, but each to their own:

its a mk3 astra, arches are solid. if i was to cut them it would only need to be a small trim?

If he's going to cut or roll the arches to fit them the wheels are hardly 12" wide.
Cracked fiberglass loks just as bad a rust IMO

    Re: cut or rolled arches?

If you want a proper job done have them rolled mate trust me you dont want to be cutting the arches.
I've had this done to my calibra with them also flared to alow a 17x8.5 front and 17x9.5 rear with streched tyres and I drive it 110mm closer to the ground.

    Re: cut or rolled arches?

think momo arrows are just wide in general and to be a good fit most mk3s would need they're arches rolled or cut?

    Re: cut or rolled arches?

Cutting them just means grinding off the lip. The lip is where the inner and outer arches are welded together though so if you cut back further than the spot welds it will need to be rewelded
