If for example your center bores on your wheels are slightly too small could you get these turned to fit? Would it weaken the wheel?

it is posible yes ive seen it done before, how much are you talking? cant see it weakening if only a bit
2-3 mm I reckon, will need to measure it properly tbh. I reckon if I hammered the wheel on it would fit though, it's that close!

P.S.: Check my thread, nice easy way to lower the std seat![]()

can and has been done. i got a set of MGZR 16inch alloys on my astra (white ones on the left ) that have been done in the past by the previous owner and i dont have any problems with them.
Can you go hit a few potholes whilst cornering hard please! lmao
I'm sure it will be fine as at the end of the day they make them with renault hub center and 4x100.

christ yes, i drive like a fool (check out my off at combe this year!! - The 'Rob Jenko running out of talent at Combe' Thread. lmao ) ive got rally car wheels that have had the bores machined and they take a load of abuse and are fine. the outers rim will buckle and absorb any impact before the centers start cracking im sure
Lee can't do it on his latheDo alloy refirbers do it?

Would not changing the spiot rings help ( or am I way off? ) alloy wheel repair places could do this I'd say
Fancy Going to a Show with MIG? - Click Here
i doubt it. best bet would be to get out the yellow pages and find a local engineering place or dig out the dremel and have a crack yourself. or do a nut and stud conversion and run with spacers!
standard vaux alloys dont come with spigot ring though.
If the tyres are off they could be set up on a mill and bored out, but obviously check how much is coming out!. I could probs do it as a private job in between work if you are stuck, depends if a machine is free
die grinder will do it near enough, they dont take any load anyway
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"
Vaux wheels have a 56mm bore IIRC. Renaults have a 60mm, again IIRC. When i had Renault 19 16v alloys on my last Nova (yes, utter chav!) they did need centering properly. So i guess taking 4mm off shouldnt be an issue. I'd be wary though.
Nearly finished building a C20XE nova...
I did this on friday as I was at a dead end with the nova and my mrs said she'd like to see what my corsa wheels would like like on her clio, is that similar to what you are lookin to do?
Really suits it I reckon.
I did it using adaptors we made up from a vauxhall spacer, all I had to change on the car itself was to machine the spigots a little shorter and put a taper on them to match the taper machined into the spacer (I used an angle grinder on the car spigots as just needed to have clearance length wise not to be an exact match) as I wanted to keep the adaptors thin to get the offset close to original (renault is 38 and vauxhall is 49, I used 15mm spacers so only 4mm difference) on the front as I didnt want to ruin the geometry.
On the rear I used a 25mm VW spacer (all I could find in a hurry) and machined the spigot down to vauxhall bore and then the inside I got taken out to renault size.
Vauxhall was 56.6 and Renault was 60.2, so it was 1.8mm that we had to machine off all the way around

PS
Boring out and just using a spacer to correct the offset wouldnt be a problem, but I didnt want to go down that route as I have several sets of wheels that I want to be able to use on my clio and the corsa depending on what we are doing with them.

Good work Chip. Ali think i'm gonna do your idea and give it a go myself with the die grinder. Will let everyone know the outcome!

Just thought I would add this for the renault boys on MIG.
The clio ph1, cups and trophy run Et42-45. The other models run ET38. So basically vauxhall wheels are fine it there ET45, which is what most aftermarket wheels spec'd for vauxhalls are. So once you've grinded the centre bore you can use themChuffed
