Whats needed to do this and where can you get the flanges from as looking to do it rather than fork out silly money for a XEV 4 branch - Is it actually worth the work aswell?

the way it gose round the sump kev on the late thy go round to the right of the sump (if your stood at front of the car ) and on the early they go striaght through the middle of the car as the early one had a 2 piece sump
I'd say mines late as it goes to the right

yh mine is a late type aswell, i was going to convert the sump setup to early but its takes more than just changing the sump, you have to change pickup pipe, sump, oil pump which is a bit of a ballache
so you have to completly modify the xe 4 branch, change the flange and change the bend in it as it goes the wrong way, i was thinking you could probably join the original down pipe to the 4 branch with some modifying

So in a word stop fanning about and go buy a lexmal 4 branch kev is what you mean lmao

I'm sure Turbo Gav could knock out a 4 branch for you Kev.
lmao that would be the easier option but the more expensive way, doing the xe one is ok if you like a bit of work on your hands
if you get a price on a 4 branch from turbo gav let me know as i may be interested if the price is right

all of the bends are there on an XE manifold regardless of what sump you use just slice it and tack it together and have someone weld it, I don't think Gav does the flanges any more but iirc browney does.
