clean it all up with a degreaser to get rid of any contaminants, maybe a jet wash, but shove a rag in the d/s holes, let it dry then get painting, i advise hammerite, as its about the best think for tough long lastingness unless you go for powder coating.
2k or enamel will be most robust but I've always used hamerite as it's cheap as chips and easily jetwashed clean
Getting 2pac to stick is very hard unless you can sit and sand the whole box down... Which isn't easy.
I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.
Hammerite will go straight on but they do a primer for aliminium which gives it a better key. Go over the box with a wire wheel on a drill
