    Nova crossmember

    Hi all just in the middle of rebuilding my nova and found this on the crossmember can it be repaired or do i need a new one ?

    You could cut all the rust out and repair it with nice thick metal. Might be easier to just replace it.

    Dont you have to watch when replacing that you get all the dimensions right etc mate. Do as Benn said first and cut it out and weld in mate easiest option

    Yeah that's fixable use 1.2-1.6mm steel plates and might be worth putting the chassis strengthening kit on as well if your going for big power
    Custom C20LET/Z20LET Inlet manifolds from £250, XE/LET baffle sumps £50, Re-flanges, EVO TD05 turbo conversions, aluminium & stainless steel TIG welding, pm for requirements

    /\ but then you need to put it on a jig, which is not something most people have access to. and if you dont use a jig, then it will almost definitely go out of shape.

    thats certainly repairable anyway, no point in making extra work for yourself for no reason by replacing the whole cross member

    Hey guys I got some metal today and set about repairing the crossmember this is the first side

    I will do the other side tomorrow.

    Final pics of the crossmember repair now in zinc primer and seam sealer.
