Give it a good sanding first and fill in any cracks or dents if required. Next give it a couple of coats of primer to give the paint a good surface to stick to, remember to let each coat dry properly before applying the next one. Next give it at least 2 coats of the colour you want, but I would recommend 3. Lastly give it a couple of coats of clear lacquer to finish off and seal. Once the painting has been done give the spoiler a good wash and polish and then fit to the car, job done!
TIP! Don't hold the can too close as it will make the paint run, also use short bursts of spray to coat the spoiler as evenly as possible.

what type of sandpaper ?? do i sand till old paint off?
I'd start with 600, then 800, make sure you get through the lacquer layer, and to the colour. Then follow the above. I'd suggest that after the primer you sand it with 800 wet, wash it and let it dry then add another coat of primer. When dry top coat it with lots of little layers, 15 mins apart normally. When its properly gone off maybe 1200 wet, wash and dry, then lots of thin coats of lacquer.

Dont sand between paint and lacquer.

your better off having it painted by a pro. by all means prep it yourself. have you ever painted base and clearcoat. you will never be happy with finish.
best thing to do mate is take your time, its not hard to do i panted all my bumpers and arches at colage and they turned out like brand new mate its just all in the prep work you get the prep right then it just keeps going right from then on![]()
