| MIGWeb User | Re: Prepping Plastic Guys do you actually need to get rid of them bubbles in the plastic orr not ?? Im a bit confused now as my mates gsi has the bubbles under his paint, if so how do you sand them as it would rub the bubbles down. Reason im asking is i have just got a facelift bumper in lime green (not sure what its called) and wondering how to remove that for primer and flame red. |

| MIGWeb User | Re: Prepping Plastic i dont think the bumpers and arches have to be totally smooth because the paint layers will smothen out the surface, but as smooth as you can get would probably help, with the bumper i started preping a bonnet i have it was black and i just rubbed the paint down with some wet n dry two times over the whole bonnet, primered rubbed down with some medium/smooth wet n dry primered again and a final rub down with the medium smooth wet n dry, seemed to do the trick oh and ii started going over the primer with flame red and it came out ok for a back garden rattle can job... lol |

| Re: Prepping Plastic If you have a bumper that's already painted, you don't need to primer it unless its damaged. Sad the paint back then you can paint over the top. As Chris said^ you dont need to sand the plastic down to be smooth. That's what the primer does.
