    Machining to fit bearing tolerances?

Need a bit of info please.

I have a front wheel bearing that is 68.04mm outer diameter and i need to machine out the hub carrier to make it fit (think its 64mm at the moment). If the bearing is to be a interference fit what sort of diameter should the hub carrier be machined to?
I forked out £80 for the bearings so i really would like to get it right first time!! Also i can appreciate how tight the bearings are in the hub carrier as it took me all night to try and get out the outer race of the bearings . Today i gave them to my local garage to sort out!! lmao lmao

    Any info would be appreciated

    Matt

    machining

i had the same thing done but machining the hub to fit the inside of the bearing...where ever u take it to be machined give them the bearing aswell and they should be able to machine to a tight fit.

leave it to a decent machine shop - they'll have years of experience regarding bearing fits - it all depends on type of bearing, materials, usage etc.
