    celly on bumpers

    mate trust me if ya using celly u def want an adesion promoter first then plastic primer!!

    u using aerosoles or through a gun??

    if aerosoles try to use an acrylic like 2k as will flex alot more

    using proper setup gun etc.

    just wanted opinions, glad u've replied

    acrylic isnt a 2K paint, think i know what you mean though rattle can plastic primer, would rather use with the gun, much better coverage

    just a though an etch primer would do a similar job? can be bought in rattle cans. the bumpers themselves have had extensive smoothing, so half filler and half plastic interms of the surfaCE AREA

    upol plastic primer is only 12-95 per litre, I quite like upol stuff - good make.

    is it normal filler you used? should have used the grinder on it really for the filler to grip if it's normal filler (the flexible stuff be alright though if you used that)

    no worries on the grip thing, drilled lots of tiny and larger holes, done few bumpers over the years, with same technique all been fine.

    using tetrosyl stuff atmo

    the upol stuff is it acrylic based?, be ok with celly topcoat?

    we supply all the brands you have mentioned above and all are good makes,

    yes you can use the 1k with the celly mate,

    2pack acrylic topcoat i was refering to in my first thread mate, (Duralit) as you can add flextane to it alowing alot more movement, you can get plastic primers and adesion promoters all in rattle cans upol do them for aroun 8.50 a can, have u not considerd using a polyester basecoat and then 1k laquer?? as is alot nicer to spray than celly??

    jus a thought mate

    done a couple of bits in the celly, and the results are top class, im well chuffed, ill post a pic of the cam cover ive done to test the colour.

    another Q if anyone can, the doors i have are from my old car, perfectly smmoth but done in basecost then clear coat, 2K i believe, is it possible to just scotchpoad them down and top coat withe solid celly topcoat im using, just a thought as they are dent free and proffessionally done in the first place, would save me alot of time flatting them down to primer again.

    mate looks top job, especially for celly

    about the basecoat you should be fine to scotch it down to give the celly some grip,

    remember as is lacquer it will rub away and look all white.

    cheers for that bud, wot i might do is test the door shut side first to see what it goes on like before the outer skin where quality has got to be paramount
