you are better off machining the knuckles and fitting VR6/GroupA bearings, and using standard hubs.

    much stronger.

Have a search for VR6 bearings, been discussed at length before.

    Re: Hub machining

oooft dont start with the vr6 bearings stuff again. ive been searching through here, bearing suppliers and my local car parts places and not one has the required bearing listed under a vr6 golf. they do however list it for a euro model mk2 4x4 golf, rear wheel bearing

theres even confusion from harry hockley as he says you need to buy machined hubs aswell, if you buy his bearings but other users on here have his bearing and used standard 39mm OD hubs from a big block astra.

incase you want these bearings the SKF part number is BA2B309692. The dimensions are as follows. OD 68mm ID 39mm Width 37mm

    Big block hub bearings (pre 1996) are 72mm x 39mm x 37mm

    Corsa knuckles take 66mm bearings.

    MK3 Astras come with 64mm, 66mm, 72mm or 74mm.

Just to add to the confusion
