    Started spraying today.........

Well today was the first day of painting the GSi kit.

I have spent ages getting it all ready, we started off using some clear 1K plastic primer and immediately hated it.

So we went and got some normal filler primer and away we went, I have to confess I did no painting today, well very little.

Anyway to the point, after the first 3-4 coats of primer, the bumpers look perfect, can barely see any imperfections. So next job is to flat it all off and do a few more coats, then flat agin before base coat.

But Im so pleased that all the hard work is paying off, and I am now seeing some results.

We only had some tiny reactions that were easilly fixed.

Thanks, I just read your reply to the guy considering spraying a whole car and having spent so long prepping a bodykit, would never consider doing a car with only a single garage at hand.

But I am after a near perfect result.

Well done on your car, pics?

OMG, just relised that car has it's wheels on!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spraying with wheels on isn't good. If it's on bricks, higher off the floor, you greatly reduce the risk of attracting/blowing up dirt. but it looks as though you have been lucky. nice job
    I have no car!

The wheels are masked up when spraying and the floor was sprayed with water to stop dust kicking up...

Thumbs up Re: Started spraying today.........

I just asked for solid (direct) gloss black celly and anti bloom thinners as far as I know gloss black is gloss black..no paint code .or car name needed it was nice and simple..

I tryed a small match up on the bonnet with a black gloss spray can to see if there was any colour difference and there was none ..

The trick to get a good shine is pre warm the paint ,warm the air going in to the compressor and keep the garage as warm as you can after spraying..

The paint has since had a quick compound with g3 paste with a wool mop and it has come up unbelievable next is line is the paint sealant. I'll get some better pic up soon when I get my new digi cam..
