shock! horror! my c20xe conversion is finally done! and heres the pic's to prove it!




and for the first time evr since owning this car (7 years) the EML light goes off on start up! on both the 1.8 and 2.0 ecotecs that were in it before always had the eml on, would never go out even after having it plugged in, every sensor changed and having two wiring looms! happy days.

yep it is! but you know what its like, im forever spannering on something, but never on my own cars! this is the first weekend in a long time that i finally had a bit of time to myself. lmao

i will be soon mate, still a few jobs to do, like change the brake fluid, tidy up the ecu wiring in the footwell and drop the water and put in some proper coolant (water was put in as a check for leaks and to get it running) then oil and filter change then thrash the arse off it. probably at llandow as i will be away for the sept castle combe.

spent a few more hours on the astra today, tidying up the wiring in both the bay and the footwell, all done now. then took it for a little spin up the street and back and im happy, pull better than the ecotecs before. not happy with the clutch though so may need to take the box off and investigate whats wrong there. roll on track day now.

re budget trackday project-im fitting cobra bucket seats in my budget corsa b which r base mounted,i've made adapter brackets to fit onto standard runners but now the seat is a liitle too tall,ok for road use but if u r wearing a helmet it deffo catches headlining,i noticed on fows nova thread he's ditched vaux runners completly,is this the way forward or wot ? universal runners from pete lloyd maybe ? ,anybody point me in the right direction please ????,ta chris

welll,i ended up welding 2 bars in for drivers bucket seat,ala fows nova and stripped out rest of corsa,mot and tax,ok lets take it to the nurburgring then,so i did!!!!
im writing this the day after coming back from ring -wot a trip-the £50 corsa with a bit of prep suspension,brakes etc did me proud took it for a lap and drove it all the way there and back,the ring is hell of a place if u get the chance u gotta go

i did mention it a few monthsa ago but not sure wot i was taking,but if i had invited u again rob,u woulda just showed me up by being all confident and efficient and all that,whereas i like to live life on the edge winging it and prayering it
no corsa there scruffier than mine there tho and no locals tried to barge me outa way as my mates,they musta thought mmnn bottle green corsa b with body modifications ? this guy clearly doesn't give a f&*k!!

long time since there was a post here! for info, theres a track day at llandow tomorrow, im doing it in the astra, forst real shakedown with the red-top in it, just finished loading the spares and tools in it and its ready to drive on the trailer in the morning! if any miggers show up, say hello, you'll know its me when you see the car!

aw gutted rob,i only saw thread sun nite!!! my m8 wuz there with a ford puma,apparently he was the one doing a lot of offroadin',i was gonna spanner him but i had to work sat morn instead,glad u enjoyed

I didnt enjoy! just to top off a crap week in work, the astra started burning oil and dripping oil on the track and i was black flagged on the first session. we cant remember if we did the cam mod to stop surge when we built the engine, and if that is the cause of the oil being chucked out the back (i know where the drippers are off the engine - engine cap on the exhaust cam and the dipstick tube/breather). plan is to pull the engine back out and investigate. might not bother putting it back in, currently considering a nova insted.

if it makes u feel a little better i did trackday there @ xmas and got black flagged for oil dripping,lol
pulled into pits and the oil filter blew off stripping threads and dumping oil all over pits,i had to use bag and half of granules
i went to factors around corner new oil and filter and tally ho,back out there
lucky filter blew when it did,cud have been in middle of germany coming home from ring,now that wud been nightmare and we still dont know why ? and it deffo wasn't leaking day before trackday???? weird ????

I spoke to Andy this week. he said he still loves me and wants to meet up. He also promised he will ring and pop up mine soon. We've also started making plans for castle combe on april the 28th, im hoping that there will be a few other welshie's making the trip up and then i cant introduce them to convoying at "rob speed"
