New here and also need some help!

Hi all,

Thought i'd introduce myself, my names Steven Williams and i'm from the Rhondda Valleys.

I drive a corsa 1997 sport which was a 1.4








But after blowing the X14XE up I decided to convert it to the X18XE1 (smallblock 1.8)

But at the moment i'm having high trouble with the electric side of it all.

The immobiliser and so on is linked and engine turns over, but it's not sparking

So just wondered before I inevitably take it to Kent, if anyone is anygood at electrics at all and think they maybe able to help??

mean while, did you swap the ecu, key chip and transponder ring (the plastic part that clips over the ignition barrel) from the doner car?

you need the key with the transponder and the barrel with the chip thingy inside it

i always thought the reader ring on the ignition was generic it's just the key chip ond the ecu you need.

when we changed my 1.8 to a 2.0, the old ring wouldnt start it but the new one would.

is the eml flashing when you turn the ignition on? this would point to the imobilser being at fault.
