    Head skim?

    Hey just wondering if anyone knows anywhere local to have my head skimmed and the rough price? its a x10xe head if it makes a difference? im assuming it's going to be around the £20 - £30 mark?

    If your skimming it just cause the hgs gone, dont bother.
    I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.

    How come? the reason he knew the head gasket went was because his temp went off the clocks and started steaming so i would assume the head would have warped?

    (i bought the car off a mate)

    If the heads wraped (bannan shape) why would skimming the bottom surface help?
    If its wraped the cam wont turn in the head. Think about it that way..

    might not of warped that badly though, if am engineering company, just explain whats happend, and to give it a good check over. may still be ok

    As Phillip says depends how badly.

    When mine went on my Rover the place said it was a banana shape but was still salvageable. Had it repaired and was fine.

    havnt taken the head off yet so dont know how bad it is. Gonna start tomorrow though
