Find something new first then tell him where he can stick his job, there is always work out there for someone who's prepared to do it. But like rob said go on the sick for a couple of months while you look for somewhere else.

Agreed, find a new job first. If it is getting you that down then go get signed off for a week or 2 to help out!

I left my job with no job to go to and have been unemployed for a month! Although the time off has been good, the mortgage is not getting paid!

Please do not leave your current job before finding a new one.
It is good to look for Job While You Still Have a Job: Job candidates who are currently working have more leverage in negotiations with potential employers.Networking is one of the best ways to find a new position. You can also search job from home. Give recruiters your cell phone or home number. Do not use your work computer for your job search.
