    what do wales want?

as the last idea for a meet was basicly a wash out, what would the region want? is there enough interest for regular meets? what do people want to do if we meet up? ideas have been thrown around before i know but you tell me and i'll try arrange it. if you want a meal one night (week night - weekend) or pub just say. if its a rolling road sess as some have suggested in the past, i need to know places to go (wheres good) deffinate numbers of people, karts / quad biking paint balling????

at the end of the day, this region is here for everyone, so heres your chance to say what you want!

i havent really posted in here, and at the moment im not allowed to drive til march(health reasons) but do the south wales lot come up to north wales, and north wales go down south for meets etc? or do south stay south, and vice versa??

dont want to sound like pi55ing on anyones chips, but as you've said your last meet was a wash out or disapointing, id be quite annoyed if something was arranged for a months time, with everyone sayin ye ye ill be there, then make the effort and turns out crap, and i know it can happen, because it happens all the time on local cruise site. but do people make the effort, or more of the meets more biased to south wales and not north/mid etc??

at the moment its a north does their thing / south does theirs due basicly cause of the 200+ mile divide to meet up. both myself and AndyL have only been rc for the south for a month or so and tathan (northern based rc) for even less time. wales has been a ghost town for a long time and this was a first meet for the south organised by myself and andy, so we will be tweaking meets/ ideas, but this thread is just so i can get an idea of what stuff others here will want to do / will attend. im pretty much easy going and if theres enough people willing to make it worth while then a north / south combined meet is fine with me.

fair enough, i didnt want to come across as slating anyone or anything, just trying get an idea of what goes on.

tbh i reckon if doing north/south meet, only fair if we chose somewhere inbetween, then atleast it isnt as much of a pain travelling for hour and a half or 2, as im sure a lot of people probably do most nyts around town etc.

id def be up for a meet of somekind, whether its paintballing, go-karting, etc, but as said unless my mates are up for it, i wont be going too far from home!!!

its a shame the meet this weekend isn't turning out as planned, there did look at the beginning of the month as that there was going to be a good turn out, unfortunatly me don and jamie are swpping engine etc so tied up, the biggest problem for me is i normally work shifts through the week the mornings sat and sun so it ties me a bit, i think alot of people would go for the rolling road or karting etc, i know i would even with my standard engine lol, is the meet today still happening? maybe some pics of the people that turn up with there cars mite help newer members know who everyone is and be more interested in turning up to meets?

dont worry mate, didnt see as slating at all. as i said, im up for doing most things, its just trying to get a bit of movement from others going and finding out what people would want to do.

no sorry, meet this weekend isnt happening, when it came down to it, only me smoking (who lives in caldicot iirc) and nutty (who lives in ebbw vale) were the only confirmed people who were coming. i didnt think it was fair on them to come all this distance just to see me.
i understand the shift thing fella, i work crazy hours and never know what im working from one day to the next so i know sometimes its difficult to commit to something, but if people want to have meets or something more in the evnings or on a week night then we can see what we can do. it may well work out better for all.

I think that we should attempt another meet some time soon even if it's round someone's house and we wander to a pub for a fruit juice and a piss take. Maybe have it up by Don/Jamie/Ryan (Fow) as they're busy with engine transplants and then we can all have a good nose at their work.

Just an idea, I'm gutted about the meet especially as I pulled out so you can all kick my arse next time.

Hopefully the Crimbo meal will go ahead on the 15/16th December as that woudl be cool.
Maybe try Karting but do it jointly with the South West to get some good numbers and a bit of rivalry, same for a rolling road day.

There's lots of members on here that don't post in the region much for whatever reason, I'd love to know why that is as I'm sure that would help us.

your joking right, ffs i spent hours on my car yesterday, oh well it needed doing anyway

well maybe we could organize a cruse or something all meet up midweek twice a month for a good get together in mc.d's or kfc.
there is always a cruse in blackwood on thursdays(although the cops were all over the last one) and at junction 33 on the m4 organized by superior-rides every sunday maybe we could all attend one of them
or like andy said all pile round someones house and have a laugh you'd all be welcome round here anytime(just keep you hands in your pockets........hehehe)

as for mid week meet ups, im ok with that, sounds fine and as long as others want to then i see no reason why not.

dont know if too soon, but maybe organise a meet for north/south for early next year or something, may seem ages away, but by time find something to do, somewhere to do it etc, and hopefully weather would be picking up, be well enough organised for jan, feb?!?!

only an idea, seeing as said it only seems to be north meet and south meets. hour n halfs drive, and im sure if theres couple of convoys you'd have fun on way down.

i work shifts 4/4 then nove -march 4on/6off but would def be up for going decent meet

    men to distraction. ;)
I know I am not Welsh(sadly ) but I just can't sit here quietly watching u guys/gals struggling to actually follow through on getting together for a meet.
You could all make your lives easier by just picking a static date by which to gather, for example.

Welsh meet: last Sunday of every month @ 2:00 p.m. rotating meeting places to please everyones tastes?
After every meet, vote on a viable option for the next meet catering to weather and time of the year. ex Bbq in the summer months, Bowling in the winter ones?
Number of people showing up shouldnt put anyone off as the saying goes, two is company, three is a crowd, more than four is a Welsh record.

I think you lovely people are a bit gunshy about popping your "getting to know each other cherry". Just do it. Dooooooooo it. lmao
My two cents, yes I mean cents, I AM CANADIAN afterall.
p.s. Do they still tar and feather outsiders in Wales.
    Dum spiro, spero.
