Action Day at Castle Combe -

Castle Combe Action Days are always popular among MIGClub Members and as ever, we will be having a club stand at the Performance Car Action Day on the Saturday 9th April 2011. At This event we have our own prebooked MIGClub Area within the Paddock. The Action Days at Castle Combe are a great opportunity to take your Vauxhall out on a well respected race circuit in a safe and controlled environment. Drivers are encouraged to drive within the boundaries of themselves and their vehicles and the day is subject to strict rules to ensure the safety of all participants and vehicles (including no overtaking mid corner, overtaking on the right only, and no drifting). Needless to say the event is fully marshalled but really good fun.

The day begins with coming to the club stand, and parking up your beloved Vauxhall. Quickly attend a driver's briefing- a bit of information about the circuit, the rules, and the safety procedures. Then it's awaiting your session. Sessions run for 15 minutes, which is usually enough for 6 or so laps- plenty of time to give both you and your car a healthy work out then back to the stand, have a cup of tea and await your next session. Costs come in at £7 for entry (including the spot on the club stand), and between £25 and £35 per session, depending on the time of day.

Now the important bit :- Castle Combe requires all cars to be up to MOT standards to be eligible for the general sessions. Although the scrutineers reserve the right to refuse any car track time which, in their opinion, does not conform to their general regulations. Castle Combe requires all cars to pass a 100db at 4500rpm static test 1/2 a metre away from the exhaust outlet. You also need to bring your FULL Driving Licence with you.
