There isn't a month go by when we don't see Vauxhall massaging another variant from the Astra. But it's yet another worthy addition. Vauxhall are set to launch the eagerly awaited 190bhp Astra SRi.

There's expected to be an Astra GSi, but only Europe will see an Estate GSi. The SRi will look pretty similar to the current car, but use the punchy 2.0-litre turbo engine from the Astra Coupe turbo when it arrives this summer.

A GSi isn't expected until late autumn, maybe winter this year. It's suspected that power will come from an uprated SRi turbo engine or a tarmac wrenching 2.5-litre V6.
