Cosworth Z20LET & Z20LEH Low comp piston
The Cosworth Z20LET/LEH piston represents years of combined testing and experience with turbocharged 4 cylinder engines. Forged from 2618 Alloy with a reduced compression ratio of 8.5:1 (over the stock 8.8:1) these pistons are ideal for those seeking out more and more forced inducted power.
For those seeking to go even further, this piston can be further dished to go down to 8.0:1 C/R without sacrificing crown thickness or piston strength and weight, in this spec the pistons have been designed with ceiling HP figures of 700bhp!
Presently available in 86mm (OE), 86.5mm & 87mm, the Z20LET/LEH piston also comes with Cosworth's patented and world unique anti-detonation groove profile as used by their F1 engines and also their unique Xylan mixture which aids the bedding in process by trapping oil between the piston skirt and cylinder bore. In addition, the piston crown has been mirror polished to reduce carbon build up and prevent "hot spots" forming potentially leading to detonation. To further aid performance in this area, all edges have been rounded off including the valve pocket edges.
