Announcements - Classified Ads Section
Please ensure you read the following before placing an advert or replying to one.
Users are restricted from posting in the Items for Sale forum until they have been signed up for at least 60 days and have a minimum of 100 posts. Users trying to post items for sale in other forums to avoid this rule will have their posts deleted. MIGClub members can post in the Items for Sale forum without these restrictions.
Wanted ads can be posted by anyone, but until you have been a users for at least 60 days and have a minimum of 100 posts, you will not be able to see other people's wanted ads. This is to protect the advertiser from new users pretending to have the items requested.
You cannot reply to posts in the Cars for Sale Forum. Any questions for the seller must be sent via Private Message or Email.
Advertising for those who do not yet have access to the for sale forums, are not MIGWeb users (ie friends, family etc) or who have been banned for bad selling is not allowed. Those found to be doing so will be banned from selling as well as the person they are selling for.
MIGWeb is in no way responsible for non receipt of any transaction that you have with a seller for goods or wanted items you do this at your own risk.
MIGWeb and people associated with running or helping MIGWeb or MIGClub will not get involved with transactions that go wrong for whatever reason.
Sellers may not start more than 3 for sale threads within a 24 hour period. Doing so will result in post either being merged or deleted by staff.
Chit chat and posting in the classifieds when your not interested in buying is not allowed and posts will be removed.
When using the search function for a part, please check the dates on threads before posting.
Epc, tis are not allowed to be sold on mig. also any copied software, games, cd' or dvds are not allowed.
Tobacco products, alcohol, firearms or any kind of weapons are not be advertised on the forum.
Buyers:
Negotiations MUST be done on the advert thread. You must not contact the seller outside of the thread.
Once a deal is agreed on the thread, both seller and buyer must PM each other full contact details including phone number. We urge buyers to phone the number to ensure it is valid. Copy a record of these details in case they are needed at a later date. If the other person is not willing to pass this information on, do not continue with the sale.
Prompt payment should be made by cash in person, PayPal or cheque. These options provide you with the greatest security. Do not send money via PayPal as a gift as there is no PayPal refund policy for this method of payment. Bank transfer straight into a sellers bank account also very unsafe.
Once you have the item, make sure it is what you expected. If the item was not described correctly, contact the seller ASAP detailing the issue you have.
If the seller does not answer PMs or emails, consider reporting them to the police, providing their contact details that you were given before paying for the item.
Leave feedback - positive or negative, so that other buyers can get an idea of how trustworthy the seller is.
If you believe the seller has deliberately misled you, please report this in the Private MIGWeb Helpdesk so that staff can consider banning the seller.
Sellers:
Sellers must enable PM and email in their user profile and fill in their location.
Your adverts must be clear and contain your location, condition and full description of the item including the price. The more detail the better.
If selling a car, make sure that the V5 is up to date and correct with engine details and colour.
If you are (for example) breaking a car for parts, do not start a new advert for each item, place all items in one advert along with a price for each item, unless a specific item is not standard on the car - i.e. you are breaking a Cavalier GSi with Momo wheels and lower suspension - the wheels and suspension can have seperate adverts.
Check back here everyday to ensure you answer any outstanding questions.
Once a deal is agreed on the thread, both seller and buyer must PM each other full contact details including phone number. We urge buyers to phone the number to ensure it is valid. Keep a record of these details in case they are needed at a later date. If the other person is unwilling to swap details, please stop the transaction and find another buyer.
The seller must offer recorded postage and offer insured postage for all items and it is the responsibility of the buyer to refuse this and opt for a standard delivery method. Please keep a record of postage type requests. All items should at least include proof of posting which includes minimal insurance cover and is available free at any Post Office.
The item must be posted within 7 days of receiving payment, or whatever was agreed at the point of sale.
Once the transaction is complete, please leave feedback for the buyer.
Traders:
Traders pay a yearly fee to advertise in a Trader Specific forum, this also offers high visibility in the normal Classifieds section.
Due to the nature of some businesses Traders are allowed to put variable prices.
Traders are not in any way verified or checked by MIG, and therefore MIG will not be responsible for any issues, nor will we assist in resolving any issues.
Traders must have a sensible username, either by name or company name.
Traders must post a thread in the Traders Forum giving full company details and contact details.
Please note - MIGClub Members are able to post adverts straight away. This is not due to favouritism for our members, but due to the fact that the membership is paid with using a verified PayPal account, and therefore we have address for our members on record.
However, this is an additional perk of joining MIGClub.
