i think it was because it was an old thread.
www.photographybyjamie.co. uk ...weddings, children, pets, cars, landscapes....just ask.
ancient topic, if you need info you'll have to start a new thread.
TBH you'll get more replies to a fresh thread than to an old bumped one.
in my opinion that makes no sense as the topic is very specific and people can make it more and more rich (information wise)
several posts regarding the same subject will only be worse for migweb as information gets spread around in several topics.
if everyone opens new topics instead of searching for topics regarding a subject then we will have hundreds of topics for the same subject.
in thise case i searched, found a topic on it and now its closed and i need to make another one on this specific subject.
only my 5 cents anyway, nevermind...![]()
I know what you mean mate but thems the ruels at the moment.![]()

you could always ask admin if they could re-open it, what's the worst that'll happen?
open a helpdesk thread.
for me it better to leave them open so new once wil go at the search tab not make a new thread my opinion
Opel Astra gsi C20LET
just SIT BACK , SHUT UP and HOLD ON
I will tell you where I am on this, If a thread like that is bumped but still relevant then I tend to leave it open however the rules state that old threads are not to be bumped.
The way round this is to start a new thread but link in the old thread.
People always moaning about using the search function .
That thread had a lot of info already so people could read and then reply easier .
Some threads like a for sale thread that's 2 years old or a poll about if you prefer tea or coffee yes![]()
I canny invest in ya and for that reason , I'm oot .
i opened this thread already with that purpose but the main purpose behind it was to try and implement some awareness regarding the search button.
i manage a forum with 12.000 active members, thats more than double the active members on migweb. if i were to close threads just because they are old i would have twice the threads for the same subject, it makes no sense.
thats why searching for something on migweb gets more dificult every time i try.
closing old threads along with members writing sloppy topic titles is not something that makes the forum usable.
in the long term this reduces forum quality.
also i think moderators should be the ones to alert admins, i did my share as a simple user if moderators/coordinators care about this forum then all of you should do something about it.
thanks anyway, cheers guys![]()
ok great to know that.
"time relevant" should be seen very carefully as something could be relevant for me and not for you. Its a dangerous decision factor.
Also, even in classifieds it should remain open until it states sold, we never know.
I think moderators and staff in general should be more alert for new topics opened for subjects already discussed and implement a more acurate topic title description. Thats more usefull than just closing threads.
cheers,![]()
We actively do amend theard titles from "pls help" to "My XE is leaking oil" all the time to help the search facility but there is only so much we can do.
also a lot of people come on here and spam their way to 50 posts just so they can stick up and advert for sale and never even come back on mig long after its sold.
