    Re: MIGWeb down everynight???

If it is better, it means it is variable, as I haven't done anything to fix the issue. The fact that is varys may make it difficult to pinpoint.

just thought it might be worth noting, tonight I couldn't get on for over 15 minutes and kept getting this message: (12.10am to 12.25am)

    Re: MIGWeb down everynight???

Well, as i said , it is like some sort of syndrome, occurs more regularly than not, some days there is no problem and for a few weeks I would say there hasn't been any problem that i am aware of, just happened last night again, and for good well over 15 minutes - longest so far, apart from a minor inconvenience, i.e. you can't flick through pages, leave new posts, as during this period the bottom left hand corner loading bar just freezes, and after a time out period it comes up with that message.

what appears to me i think is that mig servers can't be accessed during this particular time as something must be keeping them busy or jammed, or inaccessable for some strange reason, perhaphs some scruplous company is downloading Mig statistics during this time, who knows, planting or extracting hidden secret information!!

Its not a big problem for me, i can bear with it, I just thought I would alert you guys in case it is of any concern to you.

So if it is not an overall problem don't waste your time looking for the problem that don't effect most other users, or it may just be my local servers unable to connect/route me to my destination address, on the other hand I then try to access other sites and I don't get any problem getting through to them, so that rules out any problems with my side of the things, i.e. my ISP service provider or my browser.

lol you guys are jokers, this forum has alot of users right, thats thousands of users having there join dates varified at the one point, could it be this? its like when you change the date on your comp your cpu usage will go up a bit for a short period of time whilst it references everything, and some products will and wont work.

woop cracked it! lol it also calculates your daily post average and that needs to be updated after a day doesn't it?>

Did you look up about the cron job errors that might have an affect, asked the host if they have had any other sites have errors?

    Re: MIGWeb down everynight???

I've checked up a bit on this and have found some database errors logged as "too many connections". I will have to make some changes to the php a sql settings and restart the server at some point. I will however have to seek advice from vBulletin on the settings I should be using, so it may take a week or so to come through. I'll put in a settings request at the weekend.

you need to up the max_connections variable in MySQL, if you can't do it your end it might be something that the Host has to do.

Sorry Guv! yes it does still happen on a regular bases, it did again last night but it wasn't for too long, often it takes just a few seconds like 10 to 15 seconds before a page opens, other times can take several minutes, as I said its been reported and Mike has already started looking into this.

when it happens in the middle of a reply, or posting you have just typed out, you would think the site has frozen and won't acknowledge the post but after several seconds delay to often minutes, it eventually does. But you just got to leave the computer alone for a while and do something else instead and come back to it.usual times for me are approx 5 to 10 minutes past the midnight hour.

As I am not here every night precisely at that time so it would be difficult to say if it is a regular occurance like a clock work, but appears that way.

i am not complaining but just providing as much information as pos so that it can clue up Mike.
