    Server going Down?

Last night and yesterday afternoon I couldn't access MIG.

Just told me network timed out, was on two separate computers and I could access various other sites.

There was a break in a main fibre optic cable in London last night which might have had something to do with it.

    Re: Server going Down?

personally i think its because this place dont limit the amount of visitors that can be here, its kinda like when some one does a DOS attack on a site it slows it down and grinds it to a halt basically, alot of big sites i go on have DOS blockers and only allow 50-60 members and the site dosn't go slow unless some one does a DDOS attack (different to DOS, Denial Of Service and Distributed Denial Of Service, DDOS is unstoppable where as DOS is)

/tmp/ was full so had to restart the server to sort it. Should be ok now, not sure how /tmp/ got so full though.
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Mount the /tmp/ directory to memory. It will speed up logging and clean itself every time the server is restarted.
