good web space and web name sites

ok im looking to purchase some web space and a web site name probably co.uk, would prefare to get all through one company but not nessesarly, any recomendations

we've always had good experience with 1and1 or 123-reg mate, I would stay away from fast hosts as I've never heard much good things about them

Ok - from previous experience .....

Windows Hosting, UK web hosting with ASP and ASP.NET

I used them around 10 years ago to host our companys domain and have been with them ever since for my own nameserver/domain name renewal etc. They aren't the cheapest but they were as flexible as we needed them to be - we moved our website/email to our own servers and they took care of all the nameservers/mx records etc as well as reminding us when the domain renewal was due. I don't know if the company I used to work for still use them but we never ever had any hassle from them.

I use them for my .co.uk and .com domain registry as well as the name servers for my .mx records - they don't really make any money from me but still give first class service - if I need someting changing, I drop them an email and its done with no arguments. I run my own servers at home.

Dont know if its their webservers or the sql db but fasthosts are anything but fast for us.

Alot of people i know use CS New Media Web Hosting - UK Based Web Hosting, Reseller Hosting, VPS & Dedicated Servers though i cant vouch for them personally

For basic domain registration , dns etc we use Mydomain.com in the States which has a good namecheck & suggestion tool and 123-reg particularly they have finally improved their control panel.

I use Domain names | Domain name registration | Easily.co.uk for domain registration. Not the cheapest by far, but out of all the ones I have used, the easiest and less hassle for me.

I use various hosts. And have reseller accounts. Do you have any specific requirements for hosting? i.e certain scripts, databases etc. I have a few reseller accounts, where I can have a certain amount of domains which I can resell. Some resell at about £20 a year...not trying to sell you anything....but shows you can get hosting pretty cheap.

123-reg and orchard hosting do some great packages. been with orchard for 7 years and not experienced a problem
