    Had this response from Sky yesterday :

    Dear Dominic

    Customer Account Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Thank you for your email regarding cancellation of your Sky account.

    Firstly, please accept my sincere apologies on behalf of Sky Television for the inconvenience caused to you.

    As requested your account your account will be cancelled on 30/07/2008, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
    There will be a credit of 4.90 (GBP) in your Sky account to the date of cancellation.Please note this does not include any Sky Box Office events that you have viewed recently.

    In view of your comments detailed in your email, I have made arrangements for one of our engineer to attend on 31/07/2008 with job reference number xxxxxxxxx to de-install the Sky equipments. Whilst this service call is based on an all day call, the engineer will contact you on the morning of the job to provide you with an estimated time of arrival.

    I can confirm that, once the de-installation is complete, please contact us again so that we can apply refund to your Sky account.

    In the meantime, should you require further help please call our Customer Service Team on 08442 41 41 41 or reply to the the above email address

    £4.90 ? They are having a laugh

    They have overcharged me by £20 a month for the past 2 months.

    Will be taking this up further .........

    Feel for you Its like every big company think they are above the law nowadays, and the thing is most of the time they get away with it.

    Blimey - I'd forgotten about this old thread before you bumped it.

    Two years on now and I've not had Sky since - I've relied on my homebuild media server (MythTV) and we're perfectly happy with it.

    Even though some of my family work for Sky I really hate them so let people read about the crap I got from them lmao

    Yes you can, costs an extra £2.50 on to the broadband fee though
