    Laptop Issue

Well, my laptop appears to be not responsing after initial start up. It gets to the blue windows screen, just before transferring to desktop and then just sits there. Mouse moves fine and I have intermittant hd activity shown by flashing led, but it's just not booting up properly.

Recently been suffereing with adware/spyware etc, downloaded ad-aware and spybot to try and solve, but to no real avail. Internet Explorer kept loading up with systemnetsecurity or something as my homepage even though I'd tried to reset to another site. Could this be causing it not too boot up fully?

A mate has suggested about reinstalling windows, but I'm no tech wizard when it comes to this stuff! Any advice???

    Model is Compaq Evo N1050v.

    thanks,
    mark

Can try and start in safe mode, if that helps you got to press F8 or may be F4 whilst booting and then choose safe mode and then start, once it starts in safe mode you can then try and start in normal mode hopefully the problem amy go away if not there others on Mig far more knowledgable than me who could tell you more.
God does exist, to meet him, the price is quite high, he lives in 9th Dimension, to get there only your Soul can travel there at faster than the speed of light, first you will have to shed your physical body, then just hope you have got on the right highway to heaven.

Sounds like a hard drive fault or corruption of the operating system.

best way I found to get rid of spyware:

Click start, then run, type msconfig then hit enter. check the box labelled 'diagnostic startup' under the startup tab. reboot, then run adaware or similar - sometimes the spyware cannot be removed when it is running, this stops it starting up with windows. When done, you need to run msconfig again to set it back to normal starup
