Question Tyre Size on existing 17" Rims

    I have some 7x17 ET45 Team Dynamics Monza's on my Mk 3 pre-facelift Cav and I am running 205/40/17ZR Avon ZZ3's.

I'm happy with the tyres but I'm always up for improvements, so does anyone know if 215/40/17 or 225/40/17 would fit on a 7" wide rim and also will it catch on my arches as my Cav is lowered 35mm on PI Springs and Spax Shocks and the arches have not been rolled. Doesn't catch at the moment even with a car full.

Hope this is enough info to answer my question.

225s will foul the front struts on anything more than ET 40.

215/45/17s go on OK, and are far more comfortable than 215/40/17s.

and they are cheaper (Vectra Size)
