My wheels prior to spraying was silver-dunno about the chrome effect although they was shiney. Me thinx that was da lacquer r r r r rr rr .
Ive used Wet & Dry P240C- P400- P800.
I would recommend you to rough the area to which you apply the filler prior filling.... Use an aerosol surface cleaner also.
Let it go off......
Get levelling and smoothing brother
This is 1st top coat
Im gonna look a real tit @ Billing if i dont get the rest done b4 nxt week lol
Anyone got a bag of patience for sale Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. . . . .
I like yr philosphy bro......
Couldnt Agree more!
Hey anyone know the direction for Aquadrome in Billing once in Billing?
right, i'm doing mine. Will start them next week, won't hi jack your thread though, start new one.
Ben_Copeland & ozzi. I hope my wheels look half that good. i'll be a happy man.
How much about for spray paint in can, 2pac stuff.
And i don't have any tyre's on mine at the mo. i thought it would be better......but i heard ben say someting about them gettin fooked when tyre's go on, What should i do? tyre's on or off?
I've picked up the sand paper used by ozzi, i take it you go from rough to smooth?, on my alloys the paint work has bubbled in place's, near middle and back, i'm going to scrape away bubble's, smooth down, should i use chemical metal to bring level.
can chemical metal stick to paint? to repair the middle bubbles after scraping the paint away, it would be to the metal. will it bond to the paint around the hole?
Also Ben, any tips on spraying from a can. Like how far i should hold away from alloy? How many coats i will need of each? What conditions should i spray them in? and any tips on the lacquer.
I would suggest taking back to metal where the chemical metal is....
Any bubbles means corrision... so it needs to be got rid of completely !!!!
You shouldn't really use chemical metal to bring up the layers to the paint level.... In that case the paint should be rubbed back completely.. so it's at metal level. You can't use chemical metal like filler on bodywork !
Nice and warm conditions are needed, insturctions will be on the can !!!
Thats what i was thinking......i will smooth back from the whole as much as i need untill you can't see the lip between paint and metal, bringing the whole wheel back to metal will take all year.
If i smooth back far enough from hole i don't think you will see the slight indent? What do you think.... & tips on spraying please.
Ben, Just one final request. can i see a few photos from across the road of your car. see what the silver looks like from a distance. started mine two days ago, should take me three weeks........ cheers ben
Adam, my bum's a twichin at the thought, i've only got one to sand down now, got them nice and smooth. Don't think i'll have any problems at all. if it runs in just sand back again.
It's all i can think about.......hope they look good.
Just do them adam, there's nothing like nice new rims
