just changed the wheels on my astra 16v from standard gte ones, to 16" TSW Blades, after a while the nuts soom to come loose, am i just being to soft doing them up , or do i need different nuts on them???

try some thread lock but you sholdnt really need it
when i do wheels up they are as tight as i can get them with the four way wheel brace dad has

tighten em as hard as poss with ur arms. Should be about right torque.

Check the sequence of tightening.
For 4 stud, tighten bolts diagonally to make sure wheel has seated correctly.
Just been told by a mate i might need alloy wheel nuts, available from Halfords, or my local Vauxhall dealer(more Expensive), as they only come with buts for steel wheels, even though they have alloy wheels on, so he says,
and another mate told me might need longer nuts as plate on the wheels might be thicker than on the old rims, thus not screewing in as much to the hub
Yeah I got specific nuts for my Alloys as part of the package.

yup sounds about right - they should screw in a minimum of 14 turns, any less than that and you need new nuts/bolts.
Are you using the standard wheel wrench? - you need to work quite hard with that wrench - its very short.
