    MK2 Front Wing Removal

Basically does it just involve removing the 9 bolts (or 13 howeva many)

and off it comes or is there more involved to get it off, also how long du reckon this sorta job takes for a novice (maybe 2 novice's lol)??

    easy mate.

all the bolts out of the top. including the screw that holds the scuttle panel down (be careful not to lose the clip underneath as you will not get the screw back in otherwise).

one bolt behinf the front door (youl find this by opening the door.

one bolt underneath behind the front wheel (this is a nut n bolt thing and has a tendency to rust off)

two bolts behind the side of the front bumper. you will have to pull the side of the bumper away, or even remove it altogether to get at these.

see, no too bad at all.

sounds pretty simple have to find out about the bolt where the scuttle panel is as i neva noticed that one

and removing the front bumper is a good idea then to get to the front wing is du not need to go that far

Well considering the bumper is only held by two bolts and 3 screws it worthe whipping it off for ease of access mate.

It really is a simple job, the only nut that is likely to give grief is the one behind the front wheel at the sill level.

4 bolts for the bonnet mate.

    2 on each hinge.

as mavv said, the sill ones are a c\/nt....
the mountings have a tendency to rust and come off.
best to get a couple of nuts n bolts to replace them when refitting.

tokk me n mick about 15 minutes to whip mine off n replace them.

You may also have to remove the indicator as it curves slightly around a lip on the front wing.

Dont forget the screw securing the scuttle pannel to the wing, I've forgotten it in the past and....
