Bootlock

My bootlock on my MK3 won't open tried everything on it greese, wd-40......the key will turn in it, you just can't push it in to open it Don't want to break the key trying to much !!!

Simon - No central locking, to open the boot you turn the key to the right and push the lock bit in !!

Maybe you use another term, but i call it the lock

Seems that something may have broken inside. Best way to check is to get the boot open buy folding the rear seats flat. Clamber into the boot and take the tailgate trim off. Should be held on with 6 -8 allen bolts or torx bits.

You should be able to see the release wire going to the lock itself. Pull that and the boot should open.

u cant - theres 2 bolts that u cant get 2 with the boot closed. Ive taken these 2 bolts out of mine for this very reason. I also have no bootlock

Well, just break it. Those rear internal panels are easy to get hold of.

I have managed to free it off with wd-40

The problem is i never open my boot , cos i can't put anything in it cos of my ice install
