Been working on fitting some angel eyes to my MK2. Started searching the globe for some manufactured ones, but ended up with knowing they may have existed, even got a picture, but no bliss in finding some.... So I bought some Audi A4 headlights and started some serious cutting, copying and pasting to get them fitted behind the glass of the original lights.
The Audi glass looked promising, but I wouldn't get away without some panel work on the bonnet and/or fenders. The thing is I would like to keep it downwards compatible since I don't feel like building some in a haste when one gets broken....
Here are some pics of the project so far:
The idea started with this nicely photoshopped image...

I also didn't like the A4 light angel eyes having just four bulbs as this gave them four hot spots of light and the colour also wasn't my cup of tea...

Here's the lights that I can't find anywhere which were meant for the MK2

Some Brazilian dude did this, but I don't really like the way the angel eyes are placed, just rings inside the original lights...

The results of placing 32 leds in there, the colour is rather hard to judge, since my photo camera has auto white balance....

A little "Paint" photo edit to see how it might look when it's finished....

And the light units glued in place, now only some aluminium plating and glueing to do to make them sealed watertight, then cut and drill some brackets that will fit the original lamp frames, and some wiring to do...
