R888's or yoko A034's is what I use on mine the yoko's have a better side wall and are the better track tyre but it's by a nat's **** tbh but for drag the r888's are better only due to the softer sidewall rubber compound is practically identical, not heard anything about them being banned for road use though

    Re: sticky road legal tyres

There's been talk of some 'Blue Book' approved tyres being made illegal for road use for a while, despite them also being DOT rated.
It's because of the semi-slick nature of the tyres which may allow aquaplaning and their compounds which can be rather slippery when cold.
I can't find anything about whether the UK law has changed yet or not.

What I would suggest is contacting the main tyre manufacturers, or at least checking their web sites, and seeing what they recommend and whether they are road legal.

Have you looked at Toyo R1-R and Yoko AD08? Both a lot cheaper that the others. Also a lot more road friendly.

just had a look at the maxsport rb5 and i cant believe they are road legal but at £65 a corner seem like a bargain may order 4 just to give them a try, as 2 x yoko's are the price of 4 of these, they are worth a go if they are not great will sell them on

I've got these on mine they're in a different league to all the normal road tyres i've used but haven't tried any other road legal slicks to compare them to as i needed a 45 profile 16" tyre an all the other i could find were 50 profile
