Help please

can any one help i need to remove a carbon st gear knob to refit it to my short shift
i know that the normal ones black plastic come off by putting in boiling water for a couple of mins then pulling off
any one know if its the same for a carbon one

give it a try wouldn't do anyharm i wouldnt think.

Is there not a grub screw under the collar?
