How to tell Alloy / Magnesium wheels?

Just recently bought these for my nova. I know theyre old, Incredibly rare, and that there were many differend styles for different groups, but how do i tell if they are Mag or Ally?

There dosn't seem to be any simple chemical symbols or telltale signs. Looking to get them re-furbed so would preffer to know beforehand.

Although in reality they will probably sit in the shed for a few years with the rest of my wheel fetish

Do they have any 4 digit numbers on them as they will be the metal grade

Yes

01H0 A, on the front

And AS - 7 on the back?

Even better, you've got a matching spare - I hate the look when you've had a flat and have an odd wheel on the car while it's getting fixed.

Blowtorch will tell you if they're mag.

Thanks, dont be too jealous though because they were far from cheap.

I think i'm right in saying that a set of these hasn't been advertised for well over a year. I have searched and searched at least 3 times a week for them, Using "Google" "past week", Ebay, and the motorsport ad's.

Lots of Ford ones, and a few early comp TH's out there. But these are the proper Route OZ, 4x100, ET49, 6j x 15.......

The last oz mags I looked at a few weeks ago had MG printed in the wheel well under the tyre next to date they were made, but the weight of them would be a dead give away. If you do get some mags you cant get them dip stripped and the acis soaks into the pores and makes the new paint strip, also they chromating first or that will also make the powder peel off.

Yeah thats why i hoped they were ally. Cant tell how heavy they are yet as they still have gravel tyres on which make them weigh a ton.
