    Seat re-trimming

How do you go about re-trimming front seats, back ones are easy but fronts look hard.
i've got two astra 16v front seats i want to do for my nova, what is the best way to go about it so the new covers will look proper and wont move about etc???

    Like i did then......

Trust me- its a nightmare- took me ages.

Take the covers off- unpick all stitches mark out as templates on new fabric, restitch.Sounds easier than it is...

I would offer to do yours for you- but Philastrasport is next in the queue and then adamSri possibly....

Freak - That looks very good, similar to colours i want mine.

How did you fix the new covering made from the templates onto the seat just stitching along the seams onto the actual seat?? it looks very good. What sort of time did this take you??

Ill find some headrests for you- i have two of the covers, but for different 'rests than were in the back (they wouldnt fit )

The covers are made up with the original factory mounting stuff transferred onthe the new covers from the old- that way they fit just like factory ones...

It took me a while- did it slowly mind and stitched by hand no machine. Its just fiddly and you have to take a lot of time over it to get the covers tight and stitches in the right place.

Unless you have a lot of time to spend on it and a lot of patience i would go to www.mjinteriors.co.uk

www.martrim.co.uk is the best place for materials.

mavv- i did think about white alcantara.....looks v nice but is a bugger to keep clean.
If you want yours done like that nxt yr sometime gimme a shout £cheap

headrests are a total bitch to do....lmao

In principal yes you just do the same....but its hard..

Easier to get some pre trimmed leather headrests or some leather look (inditinguishable) ones.

Materials wanst much- i got a good deal on a job lot of alcantara from martrim and a mate has a trade account at a trimmer so got me some cheap other stuff.
